Our clubs and societies make us who we are. Open to all students irrespective of ability, RUMS Sports and Societies are an integral part of life at UCLMS. We are proud to host such a wide range of opportunities for our students.
RUMS Badminton
RUMS Badminton is the club for those who have reflexes, speed and a love for rackets! Members can join our competitive team to play matches against other universities or just play socially on courts included in your membership. We also host weekly sports nights and other social events throughout the year – we look forward to seeing you on court or in the bar!
RUMS Boat Club
Though RUMSBC is one of the bigger RUMS sports teams, it still feels like a close family. We are mixed, with both joint and separate men’s and women’s social events. We welcome anyone to rowing, especially those who have never tried it before - most of us learned in our first year! If you want to learn to row on the Thames with a group of friendly, caring and fun people and make friends for life, come join RUMSBC.
RUMS Cricket Club
Welcome to RUMSCC! Members will be able to play an outdoor season, attend net training sessions at Lords and the Oval and partake in our intraclub indoor competition. We have a packed social calendar and look forward to seeing you.
RUMS Women's Football
RUMS WFC is one of the friendliest clubs around. As a small club, each year we form a close bond through weekly training, matches, and sports-night circles that is sure to carry you through medical school and beyond. We welcome the full range of players, giving everyone a chance to learn, improve and join matches.
RUMS Men's Football
Whether you've never kicked a ball before or you're the next Ronaldo, RUMSMFC is the club for you. RUMSMFC is a wonderful place to meet new people, experience new things, and of course, play the beautiful game.
RUMS Women's Hockey
We have 3 teams, so plenty of opportunities for everybody to get involved! Many members start off as complete beginners - our excellent coaching and fitness sessions set you up with all the skills you’ll need to keep improving. For those who are more experienced, our 1st XI in BUCS league 1 are always looking for talented players. We have plenty of socials to keep everybody bonding throughout the year and are planning online socials for those who can’t be in London in term 1. Every Wednesday is Sports Night, always guaranteed to be a laugh and a great opportunity to keep up team spirits!
RUMS Men's Hockey
Currently standing as the biggest men’s club in RUMS, once you’ve joined our family you’ll never look back. We have 3 teams in BUCS playing every Wednesday, 2 teams in LUSL playing every Sunday and various competitions throughout the year – no matter your ability or experience there is a place for you at RUMSMHC. We hold regular weekly socials, tutorials for all years and volunteering opportunities, once you join you will be very quickly welcomed into our warm community.
RUMS Netball
RUMS Netball currently offers 7 teams ranging from a social team, for those with little or no previous playing experience, to our higher teams, for those who are looking to play at a competitive level. As well as running training sessions and competing in matches, we also host a variety of social events. Regardless of your playing abilities or interests, there is a place for you in our club!
RUMS Rugby
We welcome all abilities in RUMS Rugby, with two teams who play weekly BUCS matches alongside a preclinical team (years 1-3) who play occasional exhibition matches. We also take part in the UH Cup, the oldest rugby competition in the world and train at high quality facilities with our two coaches. We have an active social scene with a variety of regular events to cater for everyone, feel free to take part in as much or as little as you like!
RUMS Tennis
Whether you are a seasoned tennis competitor or have never picked up a racket before, RUMS Tennis has something for everyone. Players have the chance to compete in both the BUCS league and the UH cup (winners for the past 5 years). We also have a strong social scene, with weekly Sport's Nights at the Huntley, national tours, dinners, and opportunities to go to the ATP World Tour Finals, Wimbledon and the French Open. The RUMS Tennis family looks forward to welcoming you!
RUMS Music Society
RUMS Music is a fun and inclusive space to nurture and showcase the musical talent within RUMS. We take a relaxed approach to playing a variety of music, welcoming all music abilities. We run multiple ensembles, volunteer, have regular socials (including virtual ones!), and hold concerts, so whatever you play, however well you sing, come and have a go!
MD's Comedy Revue
The MDs Comedy Revue is the oldest student revue in the country, consisting of a friendly group of medical students who perform a variety of original comedic sketches and songs. We are comprised of a cast, band and technical crew, all of which are essential to our performances to make people laugh! No prior experience is required, so just turn up to auditions and have a good time!
