This page is intended to help centralise resources for students affected by COVID-19 and the University’s response to it.

University of Reading: Helping Young People Manage Low Mood

Low Mood and Depression course for young people with low mood and depression and their parents and carers, or anyone who has contact with young people during the coronavirus pandemic. Other courses like it also available on FutureLearn.

Volunteering & Opportunities

Please remember to keep your safety a priority.

Follow Public Health England & Goverment guidelines - do not leave the house unless exceptions are in place for the scheme you are taking part in.

Do NOT volunteer if you are symptomatic or should be self isolating.

Make sure you are comfortable meeting someone you met online, in person.

Ensure a two way ID check before you meet someone in person.

Send your location to someone you trust or travel with a friend.

National Health Supporters

National Health Supporters is a directory for known networks of students across the country assisting healthcare staff with their needs outside of the hospital.

MedSupplyDrive UK

We aim to coordinate the supply of non-essential PPEs from other sources and re-direct them to the NHS frontline staff and other healthcare settings. Online volunteering is available.

COVID-19 Mutual Aid UK

Supporting local community groups organising mutual aid throughout the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK. We focus on providing resources and connecting people to their nearest local groups, willing volunteers and those in need.

NHS Volunteer Army

People can become an NHS Volunteer Responder and join the NHS’s trusted list of volunteers by visiting goodsamapp.org/NHS and adding their details to the NHS section.

UN Online Volunteering

United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide.
